Meet Cristina Fajardo, our Life Skills Coordinator and newest addition to the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley. She is an innovative Program Coordinator with more than seven years of experience providing enrichment and academic activities for students Pre-K to 12th grade. Her experience includes networking between local businesses and community partners, organizing memorable events and establishing lasting relationships. Moreover, she has a vast background in Special Needs and Early Childhood Education acquired during her tenure with the Los Angeles Unified School District. This has created within her a strong sense of love and care, which she now brings to the Club.
Under her supervision, programs such as Smart Girls will allow young girls to explore their own attitudes and core values, foster skills for staying in good health, and develop relationships. Passport to Manhood will engage young men in discussions and activities that will reinforce positive behavior and promote key life skills. She will be overseeing the Keystone and Torch Clubs, reminding our students that the future is theirs and they have a say in the way they'd like to shape it. Along with these initiatives she will maintain a focus on cultural awareness, community involvement, and project-based learning to prevent bullying. These are just a few of the steps Cristina plans to take within the Life Skills position to enrich lives and provide the children with a strong foundation. She is specializing in Child Development and hopes to continue to be a driving force in her community with her off-campus service coalition, helping the impoverished women in her neighborhood.
