On Friday, January 29, 2016, the Club's College Bound Teens program from the Main Clubhouse and Hale Middle School) hosted their first ever College Bash event at both locations! The program aims to replicate the high school College Bound program by introducing age-appropriate activities to get members thinking about post-secondary education as a possible reality.
As an introduction into the year-long program, College Bound staff introduced key staff, their majors, and the colleges they're attending. Members at each site went on to break-off into four groups to work together to complete the Ten Reasons to Go to College activity. Some of the responses included; to have more job opportunities, financial security, and to learn the skills necessary to do what you love.
Members then went on to play an interactive game of Jeopardy College Bound edition where students got the opportunity to compete against their peers to see which team had the most knowledge about the college application process.
To close out the event, members were treated to a delicious luncheon provided by Taco Bell.
