West Valley Boys and Girls Club Great Futures Start Here

College Bound Dramatically Increases Impact This Year
West Valley Boys & Girls Club is proud to share our College Bound program’s successes for the 2015-2016 school year.

This year our college access initiative served 674 high school students from Cleveland, Chatsworth, and Canoga Park High Schools, a 52 percent increase from the previous year.

Moreover, program participants achieved a jaw-dropping 88 percent post-secondary education acceptance rate.  Of 146 seniors, 130 were accepted into either a two-or-four year university, vocational school, or into the military, as follows:

Four-year college- 88
Two-year – 39
Vocational- 1
Military- 1

The Club is fortunate to have the support of several scholarship foundations and donors such as the College Futures Foundation, Phi Kappa Psi California Theta Colony, Board Chairman Martin M. Cooper and Molly Schoenfeld, Networking Plus, and Wells Fargo Financial Literacy. These organizations helped us procure $26,500 in scholarships for our graduating and alumni College Bound members!

Thank you to all our supporters and a profound THANK YOU TO THE COLLEGE BOUND TEAM for their dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of Club members.

“It is because of programs like College Bound that we can honestly say, GREAT Futures Start Here!” said Lili Lozano, the Club’s College Bound Director.
