Boys & Girls Clubs believe every child has the potential to BE GREAT. In support of this strong conviction, we strive to build caring, responsible citizens.
We are a community of staff, volunteers, parents, youth and supporters working to create a positive place, full of hope and opportunity, for every local child.
Our programs are designed to help our local youth create aspirations and develop strong skill sets they can use in the future.
If you have ever wondered why supporters, board members and staff are so passionate about the work at the Club, check out the Youth of the Year program. The annual luncheon celebrates the achievements of young people by recognizing excellence in overcoming personal challenges, showing leadership and giving back to their communities. This is the one event where we get to hear from the kids themselves: how they overcame adversity, became positive forces within the community, and what their hopes are for the future. Told in their own words, the stories of their lives are truly inspirational.
According to Club Chairman, Martin Cooper, “This event, more than any other the Club presents, shows off the progress our members have made as they progress toward adulthood, the Club’s impact on our young people, and the challenges they have overcome.”
The Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley will be honoring the Club's Youth of the Year winner, Baljot Chahal, and all the other Club members who have been named Youth of the Year at each Club site on Saturday, April 1, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Warner Center Marriott Hotel. Tickets for the Youth of the Year Luncheon are available at $75 each and table sponsorships are available from $750 to $2,500. Sponsorships include tickets, advertising in the day-of-the-event program and other recognitions. Funds will underwrite attendance of honorees and their families.
Major support for the event has been provided by Farmers Insurance, Cooper Communications and Allen Lawrence & Associates.
